Wall of kindness

Students have shared with me how yoga has changed their lives.

“As I’ve practiced under Rob’s amazing guidance for 4 years his cues and spoken and unspoken cues improved my yoga practice and my spirit.  I am now well and with yoga I know I can keep well. I have seen the benefits of yoga for others and with Rob’s encouragement I am now studying myself to become a yoga teacher, a very humbling experience.  I can honestly say my heart centre is strengthened after practice with Rob an extremely gifted and generous teacher.”

“I joined Rob’s class when he started teaching at (The Health Barn) and noticed my physical practice improving, although I was still getting to grips with the breathing and mental stillness. With Rob’s guidance I got to grips with the breathing and the focus, and was really enjoying practice.  With support from Rob I decided that a yoga teaching qualification was the best route for me. I remain a regular yogini in his classes, challenged to explore my capabilities, and knowing I can continue look to him for guidance as my teaching journey progresses.”

“Rob’s classes challenged and pushed me and I soon found attending his class was something I looked forward to every week. He gave me confidence in my practice and now I am about to do my 200hr yoga teacher training course. I hope to continue attending Rob’s classes and deepening my practice and hope that he will be able to mentor me as a newly qualified teacher.”

"Oh my goodness, I loved this class. Rob, the instructor, has such a gentle, peaceful presence, with a light wit that completely held the group. He started off by introducing himself and the class, and he asked if everyone was feeling well and if there were any injuries or issues. He took time to answer any questions and explained that he would give us options for the moves, and that we should always work with what's comfortable for us. Rob worked through the session with breathing work and gentle movements, poses, holds and stretches that truly worked the whole body. There were 3 or 4 options for most movements, from beginner to intense; he kept everyone fully engaged throughout with gentle conversation and a little humour thrown in on occasion. The breathing meditation at the end, Rob told us he was turning the lights off, and that we could lie down and close our eyes (if we wanted to) and he would keep his eyes open to ensure we were all safe. It's a small thing, but that comment felt so safe, that we were all here together in this moment. I felt so safe and relaxed, I almost dozed off.... really lovely, well done Rob and thank you."
